Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit this website or buy our digital cookbook, how we use it, and the choices you have. "We", "us" and "our" means Lukáš Humhal, the operator of Emiko's Kitchen. We are responsible for your personal information as described here.
The short version: We only collect what we need to sell you the cookbook and support you. Payments are handled by Whop, so we never see your full card details. We don't sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
When you buy
Our checkout is run by Whop. Whop collects the details needed to process your order, such as your name, email address, billing country or address, and payment information. Whop then shares with us your name, email address, what you bought, the price, the date, and limited payment details (for example, the payment method type or last four digits). We do not receive or store your full card number.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write to us.
When you visit the website
Our hosting provider, Netlify, automatically records basic technical information when any page is loaded, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. The Whop checkout may use cookies that are needed for payments and fraud prevention. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future (for example, the Meta Pixel to measure Instagram ads), we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
2. How we use your information
- To deliver your purchase and give you access to your files and updates.
- To support you: answering questions, fixing download problems and handling refund requests.
- To run the business: keeping records for accounting and tax, preventing fraud and abuse, and protecting our legal rights.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
- To send you emails about new recipes or offers, but only if you agreed to it, or where the law allows us to email past customers about similar products. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
3. Legal bases (for visitors in the EU, EEA and UK)
- Contract: we need your details to deliver what you bought.
- Legal obligation: for example, keeping tax and accounting records.
- Legitimate interests: running and protecting the website and business, preventing fraud, and answering your messages.
- Consent: for marketing emails and any non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as much as they need:
- Whop: checkout, payment processing, file delivery and customer accounts.
- Netlify: website hosting.
- Our email provider: for customer support and, if you agree, newsletters.
- Professional advisers and authorities: accountants or lawyers where needed, or authorities when the law requires it.
If the business is ever sold or transferred, customer information may be transferred as part of that deal, under the same protections. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined in California law.
5. International transfers
Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as you have access to your purchase and for as long as tax and accounting laws require (usually up to 7–10 years, depending on the country). We keep support emails for up to 3 years after the conversation ends. Hosting logs are kept for a short time by Netlify under its own policy. When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymize it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal reasons such as tax records.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it.
- Receive your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from emails.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (California and other US states). We don't do either.
- Not be treated differently for using any of these rights.
To use any of these rights, email emikoo091@icloud.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, usually by writing from the email you used to buy. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the EU, EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use trusted providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and the whole website runs over HTTPS. No method of sending or storing data online is 100% secure, but we take care to protect it.
9. Children
This website and our Products are not aimed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Links to other sites
The website links to services such as Instagram and Whop. They have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. We aren't responsible for how they handle your information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a big change, we'll make it clear on this page.
